The work reported herein is part of a program of research into the applicability of correlations given in the literature, to the design of refrigerant evaporators. (l) The work has proceeded by carrying out an experimental investigation of the capacity of an ordinary refrigerant forced draft evaporator (F.D.C.) of the type commonly used in cold rooms of a small commercial type, and by then comparing the results so obtained to predictions of capacity using correlations recommended in ASHRAE GUIDE AND DATA BOOK.
