3447 — Performance of a Rigid Cellulose Evaporative Medium for Elevated Inlet Water Temperatures

Experimentally obtained temperature correlations are developed to predict the performance of rigid impregnated cellulose evaporative medium with inlet water temperatures between those of ambient dry-bulb and wet-bulb. This study considers mass flow rate ratios of water to air up to 0.8 in value. These correlations can be used in conjunction with the results of a previous study by the principal author to select a proper medium size for many different applications. A sample problem is presented and solved using these results.
