This paper addresses the role of Solar and other RES on strategiuc Energy Planning in the UAE and Pakistan.. The presentation will address the potential for Alternate and Renewable Energies in the region as well as highlight, government policies and incentives, the role of Government and Private Sector entities, Tariffs, funding Applicable Technologies and forthcoming developments are touched upon. RES targets in the Region and their actual achievent are presented.
